The Digital Production Symposium (DigiPro 2013) promotes the sharing of ideas, insights and techniques for the production of top quality digital visual effects and animation. DigiPro brings together scientists, engineers, artists and producers in a tight-knit environment, working to close the gap between research results and industry needs.

We invite submissions on any topic with impact on digital film production. Topics of interest include the traditional academic areas (such as rendering, simulation, and animation) as well as less-published production topics (such as stereo, pipelines, production management, artist-engineer partnerships and collaborations). Submissions may range from theory and algorithms, to engineering decisions, work-arounds, and rules of thumb.

Submitted papers will be reviewed by an international program committee, and accepted papers will be both presented at the symposium and published in the ACM Digital Library.

New for DigiPro 2013: Some of us write papers, some of us don’t. In addition to the standard technical paper format, we invite the submission of 5-10 minute production talks on these topics. Talks should explain a technique or a lesson learned. Talks may be submitted as a slide deck, a video with voice-over, an extended abstract, or in any uploadable format, so long as it conveys the content, style, and value of the talk.

What have you discovered that our community ought to know? Tell us, at DigiPro 2013.
